EXHIBITION BANNERS & PANEL DESIGN INFORMATION
All artwork created for use on an exhibition banner or panel needs to comply to certain print specifications.
BEFORE you go ahead with commissioning a design you should determine where you will have your artwork printed. Each print house will have their design specifications for designers on their websites or they will be able to provide you with this information if you request it by phone or email.
Here is an example of the specs Chameleon Design will require before laying out your artwork.

Providing your printers specifications accurately ensures that once your artwork is printed and trimmed to size you do not lose any of your design as you have allowed for bleed and trim margins during the design layout procedure.

Common standards make trading and trafficking simpler. Advertisers want to maximise their time and spend, which means using the same ads across as many sites as possible to efficiently extend reach
– Common Standards achieve this.
Standard Banner Sized as specified by the IAB are as follows:
Full Banner 486 x 60 pixels
Full Banner plus Navigation Bar 392 x 72 pixels
Half Banner 234 x 60 pixels
Vertical Banner 120 x 240 pixels
Vertical Tower Banner 160 x 600 pixels
Square Button 125 x 125 pixels
Button 1 120 x90 pixels
Button 2 120 x 60 pixels
Micro Button 88 x 31 pixels
Supplying Images: The web displays graphics at 72dpi therefore the optimum image resolution is 72dpi. Any images with a resolution greater than this should be reduced This can be done in a program like Adobe Photoshop. Images that are too big with too high a resolution will result in web banners that are slow to load
